CHRIS SHACKELFORD – GENERAL SUPERINTENDENTWith more than 18 years of experience in the high-end custom home building and renovation industry, Chris Shackelford has acquired the diverse skills and senior leadership that continually deliver exceptional results for discriminating clients.
Chris grew up in the South, embracing traditional family values and a strong work ethic at an early age. He discovered his passion for custom home building while working with a custom home framing contractor and quickly mastered stick framing within the luxury home niche. In 2008 Chris relocated to Maryland to be closer to family and proceed with his career goals. There he had an official introduction to the high-paced, constantly evolving management side of custom home building.
With hard work and dedication, Chris humbly honed his skills and knowledge by observing talented local builders. In 2013 her earned his general contractors license and launched his own small custom home building and remodeling company. The experience of owning and steering his own company provided numerous insights into managing employees, budgets and construction schedules. As his company grew, Chris subcontracted projects with many of Maryland’s leading custom home builders, enhancing his keen sense of team and project management.
Chris, his wife Melanie and their daughters are excited to bring their energy and passion for the homebuilding industry to the Lowcountry. For Chris, it’s a homecoming of sorts and he looks forward to sharing his superior craftmanship, excellent client communication skills and comprehensive knowledge with ECI tradesmen and homeowners. His extensive experience with project planning, budgeting, and field operations combine to make him a uniquely qualified General Superintendent.
Chris says he hopes to be proactive rather than reactive in his approach to his new duties while acting as an onsite ambassador for ECI, promoting all company expectations and values. “What I like about this team is the bond we share…a common goal and passion for our work which leads to superior results,” he explained.
In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, especially outdoors while boating, golfing and skiing.
